When should I get an eye test?

How often should I get my eyes tested?

Optometrists recommend that you should get regular eye tests at least every two years to ensure that you have optimum vision and to check for eye disease. Regular eye testing is an important part in protecting your healthy sight for the future.

As with most health conditions, early detection often minimizes long-term damage caused by eye disease, particularly as many eye and vision conditions have no obvious symptoms.

You should follow the advice of your optometrist or ophthalmologist regarding the frequency of eye examinations.

Always make sure your PD (pupillary distance) is on your prescription, this is especially important when ordering bifocals, multifocals, extend reading glasses for computer users or if you have a high prescription.
